~9 mos old

This past Sunday, Hudson turned 9 mos old. It is hard to believe that in 3 more months we will celebrate his 1st birthday. I have been busy with ideas running through my mind. Hudson has been a true joy and blessing to us.

Here is what he has been up to lately:
*You have your 9 month well baby check up on Friday. We will find out how much you weigh and your length then. Should be interesting to see how much you weigh now... You are breaking my arm... :)
* You love to stand up by yourself now. You would rather stand up than crawl. I don't think it will be much longer before you try to walk.
*You are such a good boy when we go out to eat. You enjoy watching people - just like your mommy.
*You love playing with your Daddy. But, when it is bed time you want Mommy.
*You have had 5 hair cuts now.
*You love your bath time and to splish-splash in the water. You do not mind getting water in your face and eyes. The more the better.
*You love to say Daddy and Kitty Cat. You whisper when you say Kitty Cat and it is so cute.
*You have your two bottom teeth and you are working on your top 4.
*You have been doing great with sleeping at night. But when your teeth bother you, you will wake up at least 2 times during the night.
*You are a great eater. When you see your bottle or food, you start to smack your lips.
*You can clap and raise your hands above your head.
*When we are playing with one of your toys, you will crawl across the room and try so hard to get it from us. Once you have it, you will play with it for a second and then put it down.
*You are a busy body. You will only play with one thing for a short time before moving on to something else.
*You will be going to the beach for the first time in a few weeks.
*You sat in a swing for the first time last week and really enjoyed it.
*You have a sleeping and eating schedule down now. And, it helps me out a lot.
*You are such a wonderful baby and Mommy & Daddy love you so much!!!!

~8 mos old

On Thursday the 25th, Hudson turned 8 mos old. He is such a joy to us. I know that I mention each month that I can not believe how fast time has gone by, but it is so true. We are enjoying every second of every day with this little man. He is learning so many new things and he amazes us each day.

Here are just a few things that you have been up to:
*You get so excited when Daddy comes home... You crawl so fast to him while saying "Hey Dad da"... It is so sweet! I know it just makes your Daddy's day.
*When you get sleepy, you will look at me and say "Nite Nite Momma" and hold your arms up for me to get you. I still hold you until you go to sleep and I LOVE it.
*You have finally started sleeping in your room at night and you are doing so well. The first night I could hardly sleep. You have gone from waking 2-3 times a night to 1-2 times.
*You have 2 teeth now... You look so sweet when you smile at us and we can get a glimpse of those pearly whites.
*You are crawling all over the place now. I think I may have hurt my knee b/c I am always crawling with you. :)
*You love the kitties. Every time you see them you get so excited and say "kittie cat".
*You like for us to stand you in front of the couch or chair. You think you are so big standing on your own.
*You will play so well by your self and you are ok with us leaving the room for a short time.
*You are a GREAT eater.
*You have had your 4th hair cut already and you really need another trim. (You are going to keep your Aunt Mimi very busy)
*You love to play but you also love to snuggle. BUT, you are the best at fighting sleep. You do not want to just give in...
*We have gone out to eat with you a number of times and you are so well behaved. We have been told by perfect strangers that you are such a good baby. You make us very proud parents.

~7 mos ( and 2 days) old~

I can not believe how fast time is going by. Our little baby that we had prayed for for so long is 7 mos old. God has truly blessed us with our son. We do not understand how we got so lucky to have such a sweet, happy and loving son!

What he has been up to lately ~
*You are 19 lbs 12 oz now
*You can push yourself into a sitting position and sit all by yourself now. You do not need any assistance at all.
*You are eating veggies, fruit and oatmeal now.
*Your 1st tooth just came in this morning. You always have your first on the weekends - too funny!!
*You LOVE your Elmo.
*You look for us if we are in a different room than you.
*You are wearing 6-9 mos clothes.
*You like to push up with your hands and feet with your hiney in the air.
*You love for me to hold you up beside the couch so that you can stand.

We love you so much baby boy!!!

~ They would be 6 yrs old~

Lately I have been thinking about the boys. This April 25th will be 6 yrs since we lost our precious angels. The thought crossed my mind that they would be starting kindergarten this Fall and what we would have been missing out on. My cousin and sister-in-law were pregnant the same time as me, so seeing their girls grow up and have bdays each year just tears at my heart even more.

Now that we have Hudson, it makes not having Hayden and Evan so bitter sweet. I never knew what we would be missing out on but now that we have Hudson we know. I often think about what life would be like having 5 yr old twins and a 7 month old. Our house would be crazy but a great crazy!! Oh how I wish I could have that crazy right now. Watching Hudson reach every new milestone makes me wonder when the boys would have reached the same milestones in their life.

I know that one day we will see our precious Sons again, in Heaven...but oh how we miss them terribly!! I am not sure if the pain gets easier as time goes on but it does seem to become more tolerable.

~First of many firsts...

I know it has been since October of '09 since my last post and I have no excuse for it... I am not sure if anyone reads my blog anymore since I have been so bad at posting but I wanted to get some things down for our sake.

Hudson will be 6 mos old on the 25th. I can not believe how time has gone by so fast. I wish we could bottle it up and keep it this way forever. Hudson has such a great personality. He wakes up happy and is always content until it is time for him to go to sleep or he is hungry. But who is not happy at those times of the day?

Hudson has had many first lately and I wanted to jot them down ~
*He has said Dada now... and the other day I could have sworn he said "titty tat" when one of the cats walked by. And Matt thinks he said "wub u" the other day as well...
*He has learned to clap. When I change his diaper and clothes I count the buttons or snaps, then I will count his fingers. At the end I will grab his hands and we will clap. He watched Matt clap and then he started doing it on his own.
*He pretty much sits unassisted but when he wants something else he will just fall over and roll to it.
*He is trying to learn to crawl. He will get up on his hands & knees and begin to rock but decide he would prefer to roll instead.
*Hudson has been eating cereal now for a while. Up to 8oz formula bottles and 4-5 tbls of cereal a day.
*Hudson has begun to notice the cats when they walk by. He gets this look in his eyes as if to say "just wait until I can crawl or walk and you are MINE"! :)
*Then the most recent and important one of all. Hudson took his first nap (almost 2 hrs)yesterday in his bed in his own room. He has been sleeping in our room in the bassinet since he came home from the hospital.

Recently, I have been asking Moms with babies Hudson's age or w/children older, if they have a certain time their baby goes to bed at night. The reason for me asking is b/c we do not have a certain time Hudson goes to bed. From day one I/we have held him until he is sound asleep then I/we put him in his bed. I know that the professionals say to lay them down when they begin to get sleepy. But, I have waited so long to be a mommy and after what we went through I want to cuddle my Son as long as possible. I know there will come a day when he will not want me to cuddle with him. So, from now on I will not beat myself up over Hudson not having a set bedtime. He may be our only child and I am soaking up every bit of this and I don't want to miss a thing!!!

So, right now as I am typing this, he is in his bed sound asleep. It feels great knowing that he sleeps so well in his big bed. But, it makes me a little sad knowing that pretty soon he will be in his bed at night. I know this is great for him and he needs this...I just need to learn to let loose just a tiny bit. He is our baby and we love him so much...and we want only the best for him. I just hope I am giving him the best as a Mommy.

~3 month update...

So, I see that it has been almost 2 entire months since I last posted on the blog. I have to say that I have been on Facebook with my updates and photos of Hudson. I never thought that I would ever be on FB but it is quite addicting... So, if you would like to follow me on FB just leave me a comment and I will email you my name.

On to the important reason behind this blog. HUDSON ~ He turned 3 mos old on Oct 25th. Where has the time gone?? He has been such a joy and blessing to us.

Here are a few things that he has been up to:
* Loves to chew on his hands and slobber all over
* Loves for me to sing "The Itsy Bisty Spider"
* Loves to carry on a conversation with you
* Has the biggest and best smile
* Wears size 3-6 mos sleepers
* Wears size 1-2 diapers but probably could be in size 2
* Has noticed that he has hands and will stare at them until he is cross-eyed
* Drinks 5 oz every 4 hours
* The past 3 nights he has gone 5-7 hours between bottles
* Doing a great job holding his head up especially during tummy time
* Does not like tummy time at all
* LOVES to watch TV - very limited time with that
* Thinks his Daddy is the coolest thing and so funny
* Has the craziest hair on the planet
* He will let you know when he is ready to eat and does not like to stop in the middle of his feeding to burp... Puts up the biggest fuss.
* At his last Dr appt (Oct 5th) he weighed 13 lbs 2 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long

Like I said, Hudson is the best baby. It is so hard for Matt and I to believe that God has blessed us with such a wonderful gift. Hudson has brought so much joy to our home and family.

Have you heard the song "I call you mine" by Martina McBride? Well, a verse of that song reminds us so much of Hudson...
*Everyone that meets you always wants to know you
Everyone that knows you always has a smile*...

That is so true with Hudson... I just love to see people light up when they are around him. There is just something about him that brings joy to everyone that is near him. God did an AWESOME job when he made Hudson!! Kudos to you God! :)
